Say: O my Lord! if Thou shouldst make me see what they are threatened with: (93) then do not place me, Lord, with the wrongdoers." (94) And verily to shew them that wherewith We threaten them We are surely Able. (95) Repel evil with the best deeds; We well know the matters that they fabricate. (96) And say: "O my Sustainer! I seek refuge with Thee from the promptings of all evil impulses; (97) O my Lord, I seek refuge in You lest they attend me' (98) Until, when death comes to one* of them, he says, “O my Lord, send me back!” (The disbelievers) (99) so that I might act righteously in whatever I have failed [aforetime]!" Nay, it is indeed but a [meaningless] word that he utters: for behind those [who leave the world] there is a barrier [of death] until the Day when all will be raised from the dead! (100) There will be no kindred relations nor any opportunity to ask about others or seek their assistance after the trumpet has sounded. (101) Then, those whose scales (of good deeds) are heavy, - these, they are the successful. (102) And those whose scales are light are those who lose their souls, in hell abiding. (103) The fire shall scorch their faces, and they therein shall be in severe affliction. (104) (We shall say): 'Were My verses not recited to you, and did you not belie them' (105) They will answer, "Lord, misfortune overcame us and we became an erring people. (106) Lord, take us out of this and if we sin again, we shall certainly be unjust". (107) [But] He will say: "Away with you into this [ignominy]! And speak no more unto Me! (108) Verily! There was a party of My slaves, who used to say: "Our Lord! We believe, so forgive us, and have mercy on us, for You are the Best of all who show mercy!" (109) “So you took them for a mockery until your mocking at them made you forget My remembrance, and you used to laugh at them!” (110) Indeed, I have rewarded them this Day for their patient endurance - that they are the attainers [of success]." (111) He shall say, 'How long have you tarried in the earth, by number of years?' (112) They will say: We tarried by a day or part of a day. Ask of those who keep count! (113) [Whereupon] He will say: "You have spent there but a short while: had you but known [how short it was to be]! (114) What, did you think that We created you only for sport, and that you would not be returned to Us?' (115) So Exalted be Allah, the True King, La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Lord of the Supreme Throne! (116) He who crieth unto any other god along with Allah hath no proof thereof. His reckoning is only with his Lord. Lo! disbelievers will not be successful. (117) And say, (O Muhammad): "My Lord, forgive us and have mercy on us, for You are the Best of those that are merciful." (118)
