O ye messengers! Eat of the good things, and do right. Lo! I am Aware of what ye do. (51) And verily this Brotherhood of yours is a single Brotherhood, and I am your Lord and Cherisher: therefore fear Me (and no other). (52) But they cut off their religion among themselves into sects, each part rejoicing in that which is with them. (53) So leave them in their bewilderment for a while. (54) Do they think that We enlarge them in wealth and children, (55) We vie in good works for them? Nay, but they are not aware. (56) Verily those who live in awe for fear of their Lord; (57) who have full faith in the Signs of their Lord; (58) and those who associate naught with their Lord (59) and those who give to others what has been bestowed upon them with their hearts trembling at the thought that they must return to their Lord; (60) Are the ones who hasten to goodness and outpace the others. (61) We do not burden a soul beyond capacity, for We have a record that tells the truth. No wrong will be done to any one. (62) In fact, the hearts of the unbelievers are in the dark because of their ignorance of real virtue; they act against it. (63) So that when We seize the affluent among them with affliction, they will begin to implore for help. (64) Invoke not loudly this day! Certainly, you shall not be helped by Us. (65) For when My revelations were read out to you, you turned back on your heels and fled (66) behaving arrogantly, and making fun, and talking nonsense (about the Book in your nightly chats)." (67) Is it then that they do not ponder over what is said, or is it that there has come to them that which did not come to their fathers of old? (68) Or is it that they did not recognize their Messenger (Muhammad SAW) so they deny him? (69) Or do they say, "In him is madness?" Rather, he brought them the truth, but most of them, to the truth, are averse. (70) But if the Truth had followed their inclinations, the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them would have been ruined. Rather, We have brought them their message, but they, from their message, are turning away. (71) Or dost thou ask them for tribute? Yet the tribute of thy Lord is better, and He is the best of providers. (72) Assuredly thou art calling them to a straight path; (73) And lo! those who believe not in the Hereafter are indeed astray from the path. (74) ۞ If We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering in distraction to and fro. (75) And already We overtook them with chastisement, but they were not submissive to their Lord, nor do they humble themselves. (76) To the extent that when We opened the gate of a severe punishment for them, they thereupon lie despairingly in it. (77)
