And the chieftains of his folk, who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter, and whom We had made soft in the life of the world, said: This is only a mortal like you, who eateth of that whereof ye eat and drinketh of that ye drink. (33) if you obey a human being just like yourselves, then you will surely be lost. (34) "Does he promise that when ye die and become dust and bones, ye shall be brought forth (again)? (35) ۞ What you are promised is indeed far-fetched. (36) Life is not but our worldly life - we die and live, but we will not be resurrected. (37) He is nothing but a man who has forged against Allah a lie, we will never believe him' (38) The Messenger said: "My Lord! Come to my help at their accusing me of lying." (39) [Allah] said, "After a little, they will surely become regretful." (40) Then the Blast overtook them with justice, and We made them as rubbish of dead leaves (floating on the stream of Time)! So away with the people who do wrong! (41) Then, after them, We created other generations. (42) No people can hasten on their doom nor can they postpone (it). (43) Thereafter We sent Our apostles, successively. So oft as there came unto a community their apostle, they belied him, so We made them follow one another, and We made them bywords; so away with a people who believe not! (44) Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and a clear authority (45) to Pharaoh and his Council, but they were very proud, and they were a tyrannical nation. (46) They said: "Shall we put faith in two mortals like ourselves when their people are slaves to us?" (47) They called them liars and consequently were destroyed. (48) And indeed We gave Moosa the Book, that they may attain guidance. (49) And We made the son of Maryam (Prophet Eisa) and his mother a sign, and We gave them shelter on a height, a place to stay and visible springs. (50)
