And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved and called the meeting of the hereafter a lie, and whom We had given plenty to enjoy in this world's life, said: This is nothing but a mortal like yourselves, eating of what you eat from and drinking of what you drink. 33 and, indeed, if you pay heed to a mortal like yourselves, you will surely be the losers! 34 “Does he promise you that when you die and turn into dust and bones, you will be raised again?” 35 ۞ Begone, begone, with that which ye are promised! 36 There is nothing but our present life; we die, and we live, and we shall not be resurrected. 37 "He is only a man who invents a lie against Allah, but we are not the ones to believe in him!" 38 He said: 'Help me, Lord, they belie me' 39 [And God] would say: "After a little while they will surely be smitten with remorse!" 40 So the punishment overtook them in justice, and We made them as rubbish; so away with the unjust people. 41 Then after them We brought forth other generations. 42 No nation can outstrip its term, nor yet postpone it. 43 Then We sent Our apostles one after another; whenever there came to a people their apostle, they called him a liar, so We made some of them follow others and We made them stories; so away with a people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and a manifest authority 45 to the Pharaoh and his nobles. But they behaved proudly and thought themselves superior people. 46 They said: "Shall we believe in two men like ourselves, and their people are obedient to us with humility (and we use them to serve us as we like)." 47 So they rejected them, calling them liars, and they too eventually became of those that were destroyed. 48 And indeed We gave Musa (Moses) the Scripture, that they may be guided. 49 We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign, and gave them a refuge on a hillside where there was a hollow and a spring. 50
