The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
118 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa') before Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. (1) those who are humble in their prayer; (2) those who turn away from all that is frivolous; (3) Who are active in deeds of charity; (4) Who guard their sex (5) except with their wives, and what their right hands possess -- for then they are free from blame, (6) Those who seek beyond that are transgressors. (7) Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants; (8) And they who carefully maintain their prayers - (9) Those are the inheritors (10) that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. (11) And assuredly We created man of an extract of clay. (12) Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, (13) We then turned the drop of fluid into a clot of blood, then the clot into a small lump of flesh, then the lump into bones, then covered the bones with flesh; then developed it in a different mould; therefore Most Auspicious is Allah, the Best Creator. (14) After that, surely, you will die. (15) Then you will all be raised on the Day of Resurrection. (16) And indeed We have created seven paths above you; and We are not unmindful of the creation. (17) We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. (18) So with it We produced gardens of date-palms and grapes for you, in which is abundant fruit for you and you eat therefrom. (19) Also, a tree which grows on the Tor of Sinai and gives oil and relish for its eaters. (20) And in cattle (too) ye have an instructive example: from within their bodies We produce (milk) for you to drink; there are, in them, (besides), numerous (other) benefits for you; and of their (meat) ye eat; (21) You are carried by the animals on land and by the ships in the sea. (22)
