The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
118 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa') before Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: (1) Who are humble in their prayers, (2) who turn away from idle talk; (3) who give charity, (4) who guard their privates, (5) Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame, (6) But those who covet more than this will be transgressors; (7) And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant, (8) And they who carefully maintain their prayers - (9) these are the heirs of Paradise (10) that shall inherit Paradise; and in it they shall abide for ever. (11) Verily We created man from a product of wet earth; (12) Then We placed him as a sperm in a firmly established lodging; (13) Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators. (14) Then verily, thereafter, ye are sure to die. (15) Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. (16) And indeed We have created seven paths above you; and We are not unmindful of the creation. (17) We sent down water from the sky in due measure and lodged it in the earth, but if We please, We have the power to take it away, (18) With it We grow for you gardens of date-palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits: and of them ye eat (and have enjoyment),- (19) and a tree issuing from the Mount of Sinai that bears oil and seasoning for all to eat. (20) And behold, in the cattle [too] there is indeed a lesson for you: We give you to drink of that [milk] which is within their bellies; and you derive many [other] uses from them: for, you eat of their flesh, (21) And on them, and on ships you are carried. (22)
