The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
118 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa') before Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Blissful are the believers (1) who in their prayers are humble (2) who avoid impious talks, (3) Who strive for betterment; (4) and guard their private parts (5) Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; (6) And whosoever seeketh beyond that, then it is these who are the transgressors (7) And those who of their trusts and covenant are keepers. (8) and who guard their Prayers. (9) Those are the inheritors (10) that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. (11) Verily We created man from a product of wet earth; (12) Then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging; (13) The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. (14) after this you shall surely die. (15) Then you will all be raised on the Day of Resurrection. (16) And We have made, above you, seven tracts; and We are never unmindful of (our) Creation. (17) And We sent down from the sky water (rain) in (due) measure, and We gave it lodging in the earth, and verily, We are Able to take it away. (18) We grow orchards of dates and grapes from it for you, Which yield fruits in abundance that you eat. (19) And a tree (olive) that springs forth from Mount Sinai, that grows oil, and (it is a) relish for the eaters. (20) And Verily! In the cattle there is indeed a lesson for you. We give you to drink (milk) of that which is in their bellies. And there are, in them, numerous (other) benefits for you, and of them you eat. (21) and upon them and on the ships you are carried. (22)
