The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
118 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa') before Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Prosperous are the believers, (1) They who are during their prayer humbly submissive (2) Who shun all frivolities, (3) Who strive for betterment; (4) who strictly guard their private parts (5) Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blameable, (6) And whosoever seeketh beyond that, then it is these who are the transgressors (7) And who are shepherds of their pledge and their covenant, (8) And they who carefully maintain their prayers - (9) These! they are the inheritors. (10) that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. (11) We have created the human being from an extract of clay (12) and then We cause him to remain as a drop of sperm in [the wombs] firm keeping, (13) Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators. (14) After that you shall surely die, (15) Then lo! on the Day of Resurrection ye are raised (again). (16) And We have created above you seven paths, and We are never unmindful of creation. (17) We send down water from the sky in determined measure, and store it up in the earth; and We have power to drain it away. (18) With it We grow for you gardens of date-palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits: and of them ye eat (and have enjoyment),- (19) And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat. (20) And Verily! In the cattle there is indeed a lesson for you. We give you to drink (milk) of that which is in their bellies. And there are, in them, numerous (other) benefits for you, and of them you eat. (21) and upon them, and on the ships, you are borne. (22)
