The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
118 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa') before Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 those who humble themselves in their prayer, 2 Who shun all frivolities, 3 And those who for the sake of purification are doers. 4 and guard their private parts 5 Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame, 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors; 7 those who are faithful to their trusts and promises; 8 And those who are watchful of their acts of prayer. 9 It is they, they who shall be the inheritors 10 Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally. 11 NOW, INDEED, We create man out of the essence of clay, 12 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, 13 then We made this drop into a clot, then We made the clot into a lump, then We made the lump into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We caused it to grow into another creation. Thus Most Blessed is Allah, the Best of all those that create. 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 Then verily on the Day of Judgment ye shall be raised up. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 We send down water from the sky in determined measure, and store it up in the earth; and We have power to drain it away. 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 and a tree issuing from the Mount of Sinai that bears oil and seasoning for all to eat. 20 And indeed there is also a lesson for you in cattle. We provide you with drink out of what they have in their bellies; and you have many other benefits in them: you eat of them, 21 And you are carried on them and on the ship. 22
