Juz 17
And Nuh! recall what time he cried aforetime; so we answered him and delivered him and his household from a calamity mighty. (76) And We helped him against the people who rejected Our signs as lies. They were a wicked people indeed, so We drowned them one and all. (77) And David and Solomon they passed judgment upon the tilled land on which the people's sheep had strayed. We bore witness to their judgment, and (78) So We made Sulaiman to understand it; and to each one We gave wisdom and knowledge; and We made the mountains, and the birds to celebrate Our praise with Dawood; and We were the doers. (79) We taught him the craft of making garments that fortify you against your own violence. Are you thankful? (80) And We subdued the strongly raging wind to Solomon which blew at his bidding towards the land We blessed. We know everything. (81) And of the evil ones (subdued We unto him) some who dived (for pearls) for him and did other work, and We were warders unto them. (82) ۞ Remember Job when he called on his Lord saying, "I have been afflicted with great distress: but You are the most merciful of the merciful." (83) We therefore heard his prayer and removed the adversity that had afflicted him, and We gave him his family and in addition bestowed along with them a similar number, by mercy from Ourselves and an advice for the people who worship. (84) (Remember) Ishmael, Edris and Dhu'l-Kifl. They were men of fortitude, (85) We encompassed them in Our mercy; they were righteous people. (86) And [mention] the man of the fish, when he went off in anger and thought that We would not decree [anything] upon him. And he called out within the darknesses, "There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers." (87) Then we heard his prayer and saved him from the anguish. Thus we save believers. (88) And Zakariya, when he cried to his Lord: O my Lord leave me not alone; and Thou art the best of inheritors. (89) So We responded to him and gave him Yahya and made his wife fit for him; surely they used to hasten, one with another In deeds of goodness and to call upon Us, hoping and fearing and they were humble before Us. (90) AND [remember] her who guarded her chastity, whereupon We breathed into her of Our spirit and caused her, together with her son, to become a symbol [of Our grace] unto all people. (91) Truly! This, your Ummah [Sharia or religion (Islamic Monotheism)] is one religion, and I am your Lord, therefore worship Me (Alone). [Tafsir Ibn Kathir] (92) But they split up the order among themselves; (yet) all of them have to come back to Me. (93)
