The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
112 verses, revealed in Mecca after Abraham (Ibrahim) before The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Nigh unto men has drawn their reckoning, while they in heedlessness are yet turning away; (1) No mention comes to them anew from their Lord except that they listen to it while they are at play (2) Their hearts are involved in play; and the unjust secretly conferred, “What is he, except another a human like you?! So do you follow magic although you have perceived?” (3) Say: "My Lord knoweth (every) word (spoken) in the heavens and on earth: He is the One that heareth and knoweth (all things)." (4) Nay! say they: Medleys of dreams; nay! he has forged it; nay! he is a poet; so let him bring to us a sign as the former (prophets) were sent (with). (5) Not a city before them which We destroyed believed; will they then believe? (6) The messengers We sent before you were but men whom We had sent revelations. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know this -- (7) And We made them not bodies not eating food; nor were they to be abiders. (8) In the end, We made good unto them Our promise, and We saved them and all whom We willed [to save,] and We destroyed those who had wasted their own selves. (9) We have indeed sent down towards you a Book, in which is your repute; so do you not have sense? (10)
