The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
112 verses, revealed in Mecca after Abraham (Ibrahim) before The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Draws near for mankind their reckoning, while they turn away in heedlessness. (1) no Remembrance from their Lord comes to them lately renewed, but they listen to it yet playing, (2) Their hearts toying as with trifles. The wrong-doers conceal their private counsels, (saying), "Is this (one) more than a man like yourselves? Will ye go to witchcraft with your eyes open?" (3) He saith: My Lord knoweth what is spoken in the heaven and the earth. He is the Hearer, the Knower. (4) Rather they said, “These are confused dreams, but in fact he has fabricated it but in fact he is a poet; so he must bring us some sign, like those who were sent before.” (5) Not one city that We destroyed before them believed; what then, will they not believe? (6) The messengers We sent before you were but men whom We had sent revelations. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know this -- (7) We did not make their bodies immune to hunger, nor were they immortal. (8) Then We made Our promise good to them and delivered whomsoever We pleased, and destroyed the transgressors. (9) We have certainly sent down to you a Book in which is your mention. Then will you not reason? (10)
