The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
112 verses, revealed in Mecca after Abraham (Ibrahim) before The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Their reckoning has drawn near to men, and in heedlessness are they turning aside. (1) no Remembrance from their Lord comes to them lately renewed, but they listen to it yet playing, (2) With their hearts distracted. And those who do wrong conceal their private conversation, [saying], "Is this [Prophet] except a human being like you? So would you approach magic while you are aware [of it]?" (3) The Prophet said: my Lord knoweth the word in the heavens and the earth, and He is the Hearer, the Knower. (4) But they say, "[The revelation is but] a mixture of false dreams; rather, he has invented it; rather, he is a poet. So let him bring us a sign just as the previous [messengers] were sent [with miracles]." (5) (As to those) before them, not one of the populations which We destroyed believed: will these believe? (6) (O Muhammad), even before you We never sent any other than human beings as Messengers, and to them We sent revelation. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know. (7) and neither did We endow them with bodies that could dispense with food nor were they immortal. (8) Then We made Our promise good to them and delivered whomsoever We pleased, and destroyed the transgressors. (9) Now We have sent down to you a Book wherein is your Remembrance; will you not understand? (10)
