The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
112 verses, revealed in Mecca after Abraham (Ibrahim) before The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ There hath approached unto mankind their reckoning, while they in neglect are turning away. (1) Never cometh there unto them a new reminder from their Lord but they listen to it while they play, (2) Their hearts toying as with trifles. The wrong-doers conceal their private counsels, (saying), "Is this (one) more than a man like yourselves? Will ye go to witchcraft with your eyes open?" (3) Say: "My Sustainer knows whatever is spoken in heaven and on earth; and He alone is all-hearing, all-knowing." (4) "Nay," they say, "(these are) medleys of dream! - Nay, He forged it! - Nay, He is (but) a poet! Let him then bring us a Sign like the ones that were sent to (Prophets) of old!" (5) (As to those) before them, not one of the populations which We destroyed believed: will these believe? (6) And We did not send (Prophets) before you except men, to whom We sent divine revelations therefore, O people, ask the people of knowledge if you do not know. (7) We did not give them bodies that needed no food, nor were they to live forever. (8) Then We were true to the promise, We saved them together with those whom We willed, and destroyed the transgressors. (9) We have indeed sent down towards you a Book, in which is your repute; so do you not have sense? (10)
