The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
112 verses, revealed in Mecca after Abraham (Ibrahim) before The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Their reckoning draweth nigh for mankind, while they turn away in heedlessness. (1) There comes not to them a new reminder from their Lord but they hear it while they sport, (2) With their hearts distracted. And those who do wrong conceal their private conversation, [saying], "Is this [Prophet] except a human being like you? So would you approach magic while you are aware [of it]?" (3) He saith: My Lord knoweth what is spoken in the heaven and the earth. He is the Hearer, the Knower. (4) Some say, "These are his confused dreams." Others say, "He has invented it himself," and yet others say, "He is a poet. Let him bring us a sign as previous messengers did." (5) Not a city before them which We destroyed believed; will they then believe? (6) And We sent not before thee but men unto whom We revealed; so ask the people of the admonition if ye know not. (7) Nor did We make them bodies that ate no food, nor were they immortal. (8) Then We were true to the promise, We saved them together with those whom We willed, and destroyed the transgressors. (9) We have revealed for you (O men!) a book in which is a Message for you: will ye not then understand? (10)
