The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
112 verses, revealed in Mecca after Abraham (Ibrahim) before The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The time of reckoning has drawn near for mankind, yet they are heedless and turn away. 1 Comes not unto them an admonition (a chapter of the Quran) from their Lord as a recent revelation but they listen to it while they play, 2 their hearts are distracted and forgetful. The wrongdoers confer together secretly, saying, "Is not this man a mortal like you? Will you succumb to magic with your eyes open?" 3 He said: "My Lord knows well all that is spoken in the heavens and the earth. He is All-Hearing, All- Knowing." 4 But they say, "[The revelation is but] a mixture of false dreams; rather, he has invented it; rather, he is a poet. So let him bring us a sign just as the previous [messengers] were sent [with miracles]." 5 There is not a township before them which did not believe which We have not destroyed; so will they believe? 6 Never did We send a message before you but through a man, whom We inspired. If you do not know, then ask the keepers of the oracles of God. 7 nor did We fashion them as bodies that ate not food, neither were they immortal; 8 We then fulfilled the promise to them, therefore rescued them and whomever We willed, and destroyed the transgressors. 9 We have revealed for you (O men!) a book in which is a Message for you: will ye not then understand? 10
