Juz 17
The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
112 verses, revealed in Mecca after Abraham (Ibrahim) before The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Nigh unto men has drawn their reckoning, while they in heedlessness are yet turning away; (1) Whenever any fresh admonition comes to them from their Lord they barely heed it and remain immersed in play, (2) their hearts are distracted and forgetful. The wrongdoers confer together secretly, saying, "Is not this man a mortal like you? Will you succumb to magic with your eyes open?" (3) He said: "My Lord knows well all that is spoken in the heavens and the earth. He is All-Hearing, All- Knowing." (4) Nay, they say:"These (revelations of the Quran which are inspired to Muhammad SAW) are mixed up false dreams! Nay, he has invented it! Nay, he is a poet! Let him then bring us an Ayah (sign as a proof) like the ones (Prophets) that were sent before (with signs)!" (5) There did not believe before them any town which We destroyed, will they then believe? (6) And We sent not before you (O Muhammad SAW) but men to whom We inspired, so ask the people of the Reminder [Scriptures - the Taurat (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel)] if you do not know. (7) And We did not make them bodies not eating the food, and they were not to abide (forever). (8) Then We were true to the promise, We saved them together with those whom We willed, and destroyed the transgressors. (9) And assuredly We have sent down unto you a Book wherein is admonition for you; will ye not then reflect? (10)
