The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
112 verses, revealed in Mecca after Abraham (Ibrahim) before The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Their reckoning has drawn near to men, and in heedlessness are they turning aside. (1) Whenever any fresh admonition comes to them from their Lord, they listen to it, but do not take it seriously; (2) With hearts preoccupied. And they confer in secret. The wrong-doers say: Is this other than a mortal like you? Will ye then succumb to magic when ye see (it)? (3) The Lord said, "Tell them (Muhammad), 'My Lord knows all that is said in the heavens and the earth. He is All-hearing and All-knowing ". (4) Some say, "These are his confused dreams." Others say, "He has invented it himself," and yet others say, "He is a poet. Let him bring us a sign as previous messengers did." (5) (As to those) before them, not one of the populations which We destroyed believed: will these believe? (6) And We sent none before thee, but men to whom We made revelation -- question the People of the Remembrance, if you do not know -- (7) We gave them not bodies that would not eat food, nor were they immortals. (8) In the end We fulfilled to them Our Promise, and We saved them and those whom We pleased, but We destroyed those who transgressed beyond bounds. (9) We have sent down to you a Book which has a reminder for you. Do you not understand? (10)
