The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
112 verses, revealed in Mecca after Abraham (Ibrahim) before The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The people's day of reckoning is drawing closer, yet they are heedlessly neglectful. (1) Never comes (aught) to them of a renewed Message from their Lord, but they listen to it as in jest,- (2) With their hearts occupied (with evil things) those who do wrong, conceal their private counsels, (saying): "Is this (Muhammad SAW) more than a human being like you? Will you submit to magic while you see it?" (3) He (Muhammad SAW) said: "My Lord knows (every) word (spoken) in the heavens and on earth. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower." (4) Yet they say: "These are only confused dreams," or rather: "He has invented them;" or: "He is only a poet. Let him therefore bring a miracle to us as the earlier (apostles) were sent with." (5) Not a township believed of those which We destroyed before them (though We sent them portents): would they then believe? (6) Never did We send a message before you but through a man, whom We inspired. If you do not know, then ask the keepers of the oracles of God. (7) Nor did We give them bodies that ate no food, nor were they exempt from death. (8) then We made true the promise We gave them and We delivered them, and whomsoever We would; and We destroyed the prodigal. (9) We have certainly sent down to you a Book in which is your mention. Then will you not reason? (10)
