The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
112 verses, revealed in Mecca after Abraham (Ibrahim) before The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ There hath approached unto mankind their reckoning, while they in neglect are turning away. (1) Never does a new reminder come to them from their Lord but they listen to it with dalliance. (2) Their minds are lost in frivolous pastimes; and the evil-doers discuss secretly: "Is he not but only a man like you? Then why are you taken in by magic seeingly?" (3) He said: "My Lord knows well all that is spoken in the heavens and the earth. He is All-Hearing, All- Knowing." (4) Aye! they say: a medley of dreams; aye! he hath fabricated it; aye! he is a poet; so let him bring us a sign even as the ancients were sent with. (5) (As to those) before them, not one of the populations which We destroyed believed: will these believe? (6) And We did not send before you any but men to whom We sent revelation, so ask the followers of the reminder if you do not (7) nor did We fashion them as bodies that ate not food, neither were they immortal; (8) Then We fulfilled the promise We had made to them: We rescued them and those whom We wished, and We destroyed those who exceeded all bounds. (9) We have sent down to you a Book which has a reminder for you. Do you not understand? (10)
