The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
112 verses, revealed in Mecca after Abraham (Ibrahim) before The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Nigh unto men has drawn their reckoning, while they in heedlessness are yet turning away; (1) Never comes (aught) to them of a renewed Message from their Lord, but they listen to it as in jest,- (2) With hearts preoccupied. And they confer in secret. The wrong-doers say: Is this other than a mortal like you? Will ye then succumb to magic when ye see (it)? (3) The Lord said, "Tell them (Muhammad), 'My Lord knows all that is said in the heavens and the earth. He is All-hearing and All-knowing ". (4) They have said, "It, (the Quran), is only the result of some confused dreams. He is only a poet. He should show us some miracles, as the ancient Prophets had done." (5) Not one township that We destroyed before them believed. Would they, then, believe? (6) The messengers that We had sent before you were only men to whom We had given revelation. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know. (7) We gave them not bodies that would not eat food, nor were they immortals. (8) Then we fulfilled the promise unto them. So we delivered them and whom We would, and We destroyed the prodigals. (9) [O MEN!] We have now bestowed upon you from on high a divine writ containing all that you ought to bear in mind will you not, then, use your reason? (10)
