The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
112 verses, revealed in Mecca after Abraham (Ibrahim) before The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The people’s reckoning is near, whereas they are in neglect, turned away! (1) There cometh not unto them a fresh admonition from their Lord but they listen to it while they are playing. (2) Their minds are lost in frivolous pastimes; and the evil-doers discuss secretly: "Is he not but only a man like you? Then why are you taken in by magic seeingly?" (3) He saith: My Lord knoweth what is spoken in the heaven and the earth. He is the Hearer, the Knower. (4) Nay, but they say: 'A hotchpotch of nightmares! Nay, he has forged it; nay, he is a poet! Now therefore let him bring us a sign, even as the ancient ones were sent as Messengers.' (5) Not one habitation that We destroyed before them had believed. So how can they believe? (6) And We sent not (as Our messengers) before thee other than men, whom We inspired. Ask the followers of the Reminder if ye know not? (7) We did not make their bodies immune to hunger, nor were they immortal. (8) Our promise to them came true and We saved them and those whom We wanted, but destroyed the unjust people. (9) Certainly We have revealed to you a Book in which is your good remembrance; what! do you not then understand? (10)
