The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
112 verses, revealed in Mecca after Abraham (Ibrahim) before The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The people’s reckoning is near, whereas they are in neglect, turned away! (1) No recent revival of the remembrance comes to them from their Lord, except that they play with it as they listen (2) diverted their hearts. The evildoers whisper one to another, 'Is this aught but a mortal like to yourselves? What, will you take to sorcery with your eyes open?' (3) He said: My Lord knows what is spoken in the heaven and the earth, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing. (4) They have said, "It, (the Quran), is only the result of some confused dreams. He is only a poet. He should show us some miracles, as the ancient Prophets had done." (5) Not a [single] city which We destroyed believed before them, so will they believe? (6) And We sent not before you, [O Muhammad], except men to whom We revealed [the message], so ask the people of the message if you do not know. (7) Nor did We make them bodies that ate no food, nor were they immortal. (8) Then We fulfilled for them the promise, and We saved them and whom We willed and destroyed the transgressors. (9) We have revealed a Book to you which is admonition for you. Will you not then understand? (10)
