The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
112 verses, revealed in Mecca after Abraham (Ibrahim) before The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ There hath approached unto mankind their reckoning, while they in neglect are turning away. (1) Never comes (aught) to them of a renewed Message from their Lord, but they listen to it as in jest,- (2) Their hearts are involved in play; and the unjust secretly conferred, “What is he, except another a human like you?! So do you follow magic although you have perceived?” (3) He said: My Lord knows what is spoken in the heaven and the earth, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing. (4) "Nay," they say, "(these are) medleys of dream! - Nay, He forged it! - Nay, He is (but) a poet! Let him then bring us a Sign like the ones that were sent to (Prophets) of old!" (5) Not a township believed of those which We destroyed before them (though We sent them portents): would they then believe? (6) Never did We send a message before you but through a man, whom We inspired. If you do not know, then ask the keepers of the oracles of God. (7) And We did not make them bodies not eating the food, and they were not to abide (forever). (8) In the end, We made good unto them Our promise, and We saved them and all whom We willed [to save,] and We destroyed those who had wasted their own selves. (9) We have revealed a Book to you which is admonition for you. Will you not then understand? (10)
