The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
112 verses, revealed in Mecca after Abraham (Ibrahim) before The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Reckoning for mankind is drawing near, yet they are heedless and turn away. (1) Never does a new reminder come to them from their Lord but they listen to it with dalliance. (2) diverted their hearts. The evildoers whisper one to another, 'Is this aught but a mortal like to yourselves? What, will you take to sorcery with your eyes open?' (3) He said: 'My Lord has knowledge of what is said in the heavens and on earth. He is the Hearer, the Knower' (4) Some say, "These are his confused dreams." Others say, "He has invented it himself," and yet others say, "He is a poet. Let him bring us a sign as previous messengers did." (5) Not a township believed of those which We destroyed before them (though We sent them portents): would they then believe? (6) Before thee, also, the messengers We sent were but men, to whom We granted inspiration: If ye realise this not, ask of those who possess the Message. (7) nor did We fashion them as bodies that ate not food, neither were they immortal; (8) In the end We fulfilled to them Our Promise, and We saved them and those whom We pleased, but We destroyed those who transgressed beyond bounds. (9) Now, We have sent down to you a Book in which is your Remembrance. Will you not understand? (10)
