Juz 16
T H (Taa Haa)
135 verses, revealed in Mecca after Mary (Maryam) before The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Ta Ha (1) We have not sent down the Quran unto you (O Muhammad SAW) to cause you distress, (2) but only as an exhortation to all who stand in awe [of God]: (3) Sent down by One Who created the earth and the lofty heavens. (4) the Merciful willed to the Throne. (5) To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, and all that lies between them, and underneath the soil. (6) Whether or not you express (your thoughts) in words, God certainly knows all unspoken thoughts and all that is even more difficult to find. (7) Allah! there is no god but He! To Him belong the most Beautiful Names. (8) And has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? (9) When he saw a fire and said to his family: "Hold on! I have just perceived a fire; perhaps I will bring a brand from it for you, or I will find some guidance at the fire about the way to follow." (10) But when he came close to it, a voice called out: "O Moses! (11) Verily I! I am thy Lord: so take off thy shoes; verily thou art into the holy valley, Tuwa. (12) I Myself have chosen you; therefore, give ear to what is revealed. (13) Surely I am Allah, there is no god but I, therefore serve Me and keep up prayer for My remembrance: (14) “The Last Day will surely come it was close that I hide it from all in order that every soul may get the reward of its effort.” (He revealed it to His Prophets, so that people may fear and get ready. The exact time is not revealed to the people.) (15) "Therefore, let not the one who believes not therein (i.e. in the Day of Resurrection, Reckoning, Paradise and Hell, etc.), but follows his own lusts, divert you therefrom, lest you perish. (16) The Lord asked, "Moses, what is in your right hand?" (17) He said: This is my staff: I recline on it and I beat the leaves with it to make them fall upon my sheep, and I have other uses for it. (18) He said, “Put it down, O Moosa! (19) So he threw it down, and thereupon it was a snake, moving swiftly. (20) [Allah] said, "Seize it and fear not; We will return it to its former condition. (21) And press your hand to your side, it shall come out white without evil: another sign: (22) That We may show thee (some) of Our greater portents, (23) Go to the Pharaoh as he has become exceedingly rebellious." (24)
