Juz 16
T H (Taa Haa)
135 verses, revealed in Mecca after Mary (Maryam) before The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Ta Ha. (1) We did not reveal the Qur'an to you to cause you distress; (2) But only as a reminder for those who fear [Allah] - (3) It is a sending down from Him who has created the earth, and the high heavens, (4) The Beneficent One, Who is established on the Throne. (5) To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, and all that is in between, and all that is beneath the soil. (6) Whether you speak aloud [or in a low voice], He hears all, for He knows your secrets and what is even more hidden. (7) Allah! There is no Allah save Him. His are the most beautiful names. (8) And has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? (9) When he saw a fire he said to his family: "You wait here. I have seen a fire. I may haply be able to bring an ember from it, or find direction by the fire." (10) But when he came to the fire, a voice was heard: "O Moses! (11) Verily I! I am thy Lord: so take off thy shoes; verily thou art into the holy valley, Tuwa. (12) And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed [to you]. (13) I Am the only God. Worship Me and be steadfast in prayer to have My name always in your mind. (14) Verily the Hour (of the great change) is about to come. I keep it secret that every soul may be rewarded for its endeavour. (15) "Therefore, let not the one who believes not therein (i.e. in the Day of Resurrection, Reckoning, Paradise and Hell, etc.), but follows his own lusts, divert you therefrom, lest you perish. (16) "What do you have in your right hand, Moses?" (17) He answered: "It is my staff; I lean on it; and with it I beat down leaves for my sheep; and [many] other uses have I for it." (18) Said He: "Throw it down, O Moses!" (19) So Moosa put it down thereupon it became a fast moving serpent. (20) Said He, 'Take it, and fear not; We will restore it to its first state. (21) Now, put your hand under your armpit. It shall come out white, without evil, a second sign. (22) That We may shew thee of Our Signs the greatest. (23) And go to Pharaoh now for he has transgressed all bounds." (24)
