T H (Taa Haa)
135 verses, revealed in Mecca after Mary (Maryam) before The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] (1) We have not sent down to you the Qur'an that you be distressed (2) But only as an admonition unto him who feareth. (3) A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens. (4) (Allah) Most Gracious is firmly established on the throne (of authority). (5) His is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth and what is between them two and what is beneath the ground. (6) And if thou speakest the word aloud, then verily He knoweth the secret and the most hidden. (7) Allah! La ilahla illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He)! To Him belong the Best Names. (8) Has the story of Moses reached you? (9) Lo! he saw a fire [in the desert]; and so he said to his family: "Wait here! Behold, I perceive a fire [far away]: perhaps I can bring you a brand there from, or find at the fire some guidance." (10) When he came close to it, a voice called out, "Moses, (11) I Am your Lord. Take off your shoes; you are in the holy valley of Tuwa. (12) I Myself have chosen you; therefore, give ear to what is revealed. (13) Indeed, I am Allah. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance. (14) The Hour of Resurrection is coming. I have willed to keep the time of its coming hidden so that everyone may be recompensed in accordance with his effort. (15) Therefor, let not him turn thee aside from (the thought of) it who believeth not therein but followeth his own desire, lest thou perish. (16) And what is that in your right hand, O Moses?" (17) He replied, "It is my staff. I lean on it, and with it, I beat down the leaves for my flock; I also have other uses for it." (18) He said: 'Moses, cast it down' (19) So he threw it down, and thereupon it was a snake, moving swiftly. (20) Allah said:"Grasp it, and fear not, We shall return it to its former state, (21) And press thy hand to thy side, it will come forth white, without hurt, as another sign. (22) That We may show thee (some) of Our greater portents, (23) Go thou unto Pharaoh! Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds). (24)
