T H (Taa Haa)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta. Ha. (1) We have not Sent down on thee the Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed. (2) But as admonition for him who fears -- (3) a revelation from Him who has created the earth and the high heavens (4) the All Merciful settled on the throne. (5) To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, and whatever lies in between them, and all that lies under the ground. (6) Whether or not you express (your thoughts) in words, God certainly knows all unspoken thoughts and all that is even more difficult to find. (7) Allah there is no worship except for Him; His only are the best names. (8) AND HAS the story of Moses ever come within thy ken? (9) When he saw a fire he said to his family: "You wait here. I have seen a fire. I may haply be able to bring an ember from it, or find direction by the fire." (10) When he came close to it, a voice called out, "Moses, (11) "Verily! I am your Lord! So take off your shoes, you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa. (12) "And I have chosen you. So listen to that which is inspired to you. (13) Verily I am Allah. There is no god beside Me. So serve Me and establish Prayers to remember Me. (14) Surely the hour is coming-- I am about to make it manifest-- so that every soul may be rewarded as it strives: (15) Let none bar thee from it, that believes not in it but follows after his own caprice, or thou wilt perish. (16) "What do you have in your right hand, Moses?" (17) He answered: "It is my staff; I lean on it; and with it I beat down leaves for my sheep; and [many] other uses have I for it." (18) The Lord said, "Moses, throw it on the ground". (19) So he cast it down, and lo! it was a serpent running along. (20) Allah said: take hold of it, and fear not; We shall restore it to its former state. (21) And draw in your hand to your side; it will come out white without disease - another sign, (22) for We shall show you some of Our greatest Signs. (23) Go to Firon, surely he has exceeded all limits. (24)
