T H (Taa Haa)
135 verses, revealed in Mecca after Mary (Maryam) before The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta Ha (1) We have not sent down to you the Qur'an that you be distressed (2) it is only a reminder for him who fears Allah; (3) a revelation from Him who created the earth and the high heavens; (4) (Allah) Most Gracious is firmly established on the throne (of authority). (5) His is whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever on the earth and whatsoever is in between and whatsoever is underneath the earth. (6) Be thou loud in thy speech, yet surely He knows the secret and that yet more hidden. (7) Allah! La ilahla illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He)! To Him belong the Best Names. (8) Has the story of Moses reached you? (9) When he saw a fire and said unto his folk: Lo! Wait! I see a fire afar off. Peradventure I may bring you a brand therefrom or may find guidance at the fire. (10) When he came to it, a voice cried, 'Moses, (11) I am thy Lord; put off thy shoes; thou art in the holy valley, Towa. (12) I have chosen you. Therefore, listen to what shall be revealed. (13) Surely I am Allah, there is no god but I, therefore serve Me and keep up prayer for My remembrance: (14) Although it is certain that the Day of Judgment will come, I prefer to keep it almost a secret so that every soul will receive the recompense for what it has done (on its own). (15) Do not let those who disbelieve in it and follow their desires bar you from it, or you will perish. (16) And what is in your right hand, O Moses?" (17) He replied, "It is my staff. I lean on it, and with it, I beat down the leaves for my flock; I also have other uses for it." (18) [Allah] said, "Throw it down, O Moses." (19) So he cast it down; and lo! it was a serpent running. (20) Said He: "Take hold of it, and fear not: We shall restore it to its former state. (21) "Now - as another Sign - place your hand under your arm and it will come out sheer white without harm (or stain). (22) That We may show thee (some) of Our greater portents, (23) "Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh)! Verily, he has transgressed (all bounds in disbelief and disobedience, and has behaved as an arrogant, and as a tyrant)." (24)
