T H (Taa Haa)
135 verses, revealed in Mecca after Mary (Maryam) before The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ TaHa. (1) We have not sent down the Qur'an to thee to be (an occasion) for thy distress, (2) but only as an exhortation for him who fears God; (3) It is a revelation from the Creator of the earth and the high heavens. (4) the All-compassionate sat Himself upon the Throne; to Him belongs (5) To Him belongs what is in the heavens and on earth, and all between them, and all beneath the soil. (6) If you speak loudly; He has indeed knowledge of the secret and the hidden. (7) Allah-- there is no god but He; His are the very best names. (8) And did the news of Moosa reach you? (9) When he saw a fire and said to his wife, “Wait I have seen a fire perhaps I may bring you an ember from it or find a way upon the fire.” (10) And when he came to it, he was called, "O Moses, (11) Verily, I am thy Sustainer! Take off, then, thy sandals! Behold, thou art in the twice hallowed valley, (12) “And I have chosen you, therefore listen carefully to what is divinely revealed to you.” (13) "Verily, I - I alone - am God; there is no deity save Me. Hence, worship Me alone, and be constant in prayer, so as to remember Me! (14) "Behold, [although] I have willed to keep it hidden, the Last Hour is bound to come, so that every human being may be recompensed in accordance with what he strove for [in life]. (15) Hence, let not anyone who does not believe in its coming and follows [but] his own desires divert thee from [belief in] it, lest thou perish! (16) What is that, Moses, thou hast in thy right hand?' (17) Moses answered: "This is my staff. I lean on it (when I walk), and with it I beat down leaves for my flock, and I have many other uses for it." (18) Allah said: cast it down, O Musa! (19) So he threw it down, and thereupon it was a snake, moving swiftly. (20) Then He said: "Seize it and have no fear. We shall restore it to its former state. (21) "Now draw thy hand close to thy side: It shall come forth white (and shining), without harm (or stain),- as another Sign,- (22) That We may shew thee of Our Signs the greatest. (23) "Go thou to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds." (24)
