Then the twain journeyed until when they embarked in a boat, he scuttled it. Musa said: hast thou scuttled it that thou mayest drown the people thereof? Assuredly thou hast committed a thing grievous. (71) He replied: "Did I not tell you that you will not be able to patiently bear with me?" (72) He said, "Do not take me to task for what I have forgotten, and do not be hard on me on account of what I have done!" (73) and so they departed. Thereafter they met a boy and he killed him. He (Moses) exclaimed: 'What, have you killed a pure soul and it was not done (in retaliation) for a soul? you have done a terrible thing' (74) ۞ Said he, 'Did I not say that thou couldst never bear with me patiently?' (75) Moses replied, "If I ever ask you about anything after this, do not let me accompany you. I will have given you sufficient excuse." (76) So they went on until when they came to the people of a town, they asked them for food, but they refused to entertain them as guests. Then they found in it a wall which was on the point of falling, so he put it into a right state. (Musa) said: If you had pleased, you might certainly have taken a recompense for it. (77) He said: this shall be the parting between me and thee; now I shall declare unto thee the interpretation of that wherewith thou wast not able to have patience. (78) "As for the boat, it belonged to certain men in dire want: they plied on the water: I but wished to render it unserviceable, for there was after them a certain king who seized on every boat by force. (79) "And as for the boy, his parents were believers, and we feared lest he should oppress them by rebellion and disbelief. (80) so we desired that their Lord should give to them in exchange one better than he in purity, and nearer in tenderness. (81) As for that wall, it belonged to two orphan boys of the city, and their treasure was buried under it. Their father was an upright man. So your Lord willed that on reaching the age of maturity they should dig out their treasure as a favour from their Lord. So, I did not do that of my own accord. This is the explanation of things you could not bear with patience." (82)
