Hizb 31
Juz 16
So they set out, until when they had embarked on the ship, al-Khidh r tore it open. [Moses] said, "Have you torn it open to drown its people? You have certainly done a grave thing." (71) He said: Did I not tell thee that thou couldst not bear with me? (72) [Musa (Moses)] said: "Call me not to account for what I forgot, and be not hard upon me for my affair (with you)." (73) So they set out, until when they met a boy, al-Khidh r killed him. [Moses] said, "Have you killed a pure soul for other than [having killed] a soul? You have certainly done a deplorable thing." (74) ۞ He responded, "Did I not tell you that you will not be able to remain patient with me?" (75) He said: If I ask you about anything after this, keep me not in your company; indeed you shall have (then) found an excuse in my case. (76) So they departed; until, when they reached the people of a city, they asked the people for food, but they refused to receive them hospitably. There they found a wall about to tumble down, and so he set it up. He said, 'If thou hadst wished, thou couldst have taken a wage for that.' (77) (Khidr) said: "This is the parting between me and you, I will tell you the interpretation of (those) things over which you were unable to hold patience. (78) "As for that boat, it belonged to some needy people who toiled upon the sea - and I desired to damage it because [I knew that] behind them was a king who is wont to seize every boat by brute force. (79) And as for the lad, his parents were believers and we feared lest he should oppress them by rebellion and disbelief. (80) We wanted their Lord to replace him with someone purer than him and more compassionate. (81) "And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphan boys in the town; and there was under it a treasure belonging to them; and their father was a righteous man, and your Lord intended that they should attain their age of full strength and take out their treasure as a mercy from your Lord. And I did it not of my own accord. That is the interpretation of those (things) over which you could not hold patience." (82)
