Hizb 31
Juz 16
Then the two went forth until, when they embarked on the boat, he made a hole in it, whereupon Moses exclaimed: "Have you made a hole in it so as to drown the people in the boat? You have certainly done an awful thing." (71) He replied: "Did I not tell you that you will not be able to patiently bear with me?" (72) Musa said: take me not to task for what I forget, and impose not in my affair hardship. (73) So they twain journeyed on till, when they met a lad, he slew him. (Moses) said: What! Hast thou slain an innocent soul who hath slain no man? Verily thou hast done a horrid thing. (74) ۞ He said: said I not unto thee that thou wouldst by no means be able to have with me patience? (75) Musa said: if I ask thee regarding aught after this, company not with me; surely there hath reached to thee from my side an excuse. (76) Then they proceeded: until, when they came to the inhabitants of a town, they asked them for food, but they refused them hospitality. They found there a wall on the point of falling down, but he set it up straight. (Moses) said: "If thou hadst wished, surely thou couldst have exacted some recompense for it!" (77) He said: 'This is the parting between me and you. But now I will tell you the interpretation of that which you could not patiently bear. (78) As for the ship, it belonged to poor people working at sea. So I intended to cause defect in it as there was after them a king who seized every [good] ship by force. (79) As for the lad, his parents were believers; and we were afraid he would impose on them insolence and unbelief; (80) So we desired that their Lord might give them in his place one better than him in purity and nearer to having compassion. (81) "And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphan boys in the town; and there was under it a treasure belonging to them; and their father was a righteous man, and your Lord intended that they should attain their age of full strength and take out their treasure as a mercy from your Lord. And I did it not of my own accord. That is the interpretation of those (things) over which you could not hold patience." (82)
