Juz 15
The Cave (Al-Kahf)
110 verses, revealed in Mecca after Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah) before The Bee (Al-nahl)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
All praise is to Allah Who sent down the Book upon His bondman, and has not kept any deviation in it. (1) [a divine writ] unerringly straight, meant to warn [the godless] of a severe punishment from Him, and to give unto the believers who do good works the glad tiding that theirs shall be a goodly reward (2) wherein they will remain [in a state of bliss] forever. (3) and also to warn those who say: "Allah has taken to Himself a son," (4) They have no knowledge of it, nor had their fathers. Grave is the word that comes out of their mouths; they speak not except a lie. (5) But wouldst thou, perhaps, torment thyself to death with grief over them if they are not willing to believe in this message? (6) We have adorned the earth with attractive things, so that We may test mankind as to which one is best in conduct, (7) And indeed We shall one day make all that is on it a barren plain. (8) Deemest thou that the people of the cave and the inscription were of Our signs a wonder? (9) [Mention] when the youths retreated to the cave and said, "Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance." (10) Therefore We covered up their (sense of) hearing (causing them, to go in deep sleep) in the Cave for a number of years. (11) Then We awakened them that We might show which of the two factions was most precise in calculating what [extent] they had remained in time. (12)
