Juz 15
The Cave (Al-Kahf)
110 verses, revealed in Mecca after Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah) before The Bee (Al-nahl)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
All praise is to Allah Who sent down the Book upon His bondman, and has not kept any deviation in it. (1) (He has made it) Straight to give warning (to the disbelievers) of a severe punishment from Him, and to give glad tidings to the believers (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), who work righteous deeds, that they shall have a fair reward (i.e. Paradise). (2) [a state of bliss] in which they shall dwell beyond the count of time. (3) and admonish those who say that God has begotten a son. (4) They have no knowledge of it, nor had their fathers; a grievous word it is that comes out of their mouths; they speak nothing but a lie. (5) Thou wouldst only, perchance, fret thyself to death, following after them, in grief, if they believe not in this Message. (6) Verily! We have made that which is on earth as an adornment for it, in order that We may test them (mankind) as to which of them are best in deeds. [i.e. those who do good deeds in the most perfect manner, that means to do them (deeds) totally for Allah's sake and in accordance to the legal ways of the Prophet SAW]. (7) and, verily, [in time] We shall reduce all that is on it to barren dust! (8) Do you think that the Men of the Cave and the Inscription were one of Our wondrous signs? (9) When those young men took shelter in the cave, and prayed: "O Lord, grant us Your favour and dispose our affair aright," (10) Then We draw (a veil) over their ears, for a number of years, in the Cave, (so that they heard not): (11) Then We woke them up again so that We might see which of the two groups would better calculate the time they had stayed there. (12)
