Juz 15
The Cave (Al-Kahf)
110 verses, revealed in Mecca after Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah) before The Bee (Al-nahl)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
(All) praise is due to Allah, Who revealed the Book to His servant and did not make in it any crookedness. (1) Rightly directing, that he might give warning of severe punishment from Him and give good news to the believers who do good that they shall have a goodly reward, (2) Wherein they will abide for ever; (3) and to warn those who say, 'God has taken to Himself a son'; (4) a thing about which they have no knowledge, neither they nor their ancestors. Dreadful is the word that comes out of their mouths. What they utter is merely a lie. (5) Will you kill yourself for grief of them if they do not believe in this presentation? (6) Verily We have made whatsoever is on the earth as an adornment thereof, that We may prove them - which of them is best in work. (7) And verily We are going to make whatsoever is thereon a soil bare. (8) Or have you thought that the companions of the cave and the inscription were, among Our signs, a wonder? (9) Recall what time the youths betook themselves to the cave, then said: our Lord! vouchsafe unto us mercy from before Thee, and prepare for us in our affair a right course. (10) We sealed off their ears in the cave for a number of years, (11) and then We awakened them: [and We did all this] so that We might mark out [to the world] which of the two points of view showed a better comprehension of the time-span during which they had remained in this state. (12)
