The Cave (Al-Kahf)
110 verses, revealed in Mecca after Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah) before The Bee (Al-nahl)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has sent down to His slave (Muhammad SAW) the Book (the Quran), and has not placed therein any crookedness. 1 Rightly directing, that he might give warning of severe punishment from Him and give good news to the believers who do good that they shall have a goodly reward, 2 In which they will abide forever. 3 And to warn those who say, "Allah has taken a son." 4 Neither they nor their fathers had any knowledge of such utterance (that God has begotten a son). Whatever they say about (this matter) is vicious blasphemy and plain lies. 5 Will you kill yourself for grief of them if they do not believe in this presentation? 6 We have indeed placed all that is on the earth as its adornment in order that We may test them, who among them has the best deeds. 7 For We shall certainly turn it to barren dust. 8 Or dost thou think the Men of the Cave and Er-Rakeem were among Our signs a wonder? 9 (Remember) when the young men fled for refuge (from their disbelieving folk) to the Cave, they said: "Our Lord! Bestow on us mercy from Yourself, and facilitate for us our affair in the right way!" 10 We lulled them to sleep in that cave for a number of years 11 Then We roused them, in order to test which of the two parties was best at calculating the term of years they had tarried! 12
