The nobles of Pharaoh said: "He surely is a clever magician. (109) Who wants to expel you from your land [through magic], so what do you instruct?" (110) They said, “Stop him and his brother, and send announcers to the cities to gather people.” (111) To bring each knowing wizard unto thee. (112) The sorcerers came to Pharaoh. They said: 'Shall we be rewarded if we are the winners' (113) Pharaoh replied: 'Certainly, and you shall be among those who are near to me.' (114) They said, "O Moses, either you throw [your staff], or we will be the ones to throw [first]." (115) 'Throw' he replied. And when they threw, they bewitched the people's eyes and terrified them, and produced great sorcery. (116) Then We inspired Moses, saying, "Throw down your staff." And it immediately swallowed up their false devices. (117) ۞ Thus the truth prevailed and what they had produced came to nothing: (118) They were therefore defeated here and they turned back humiliated. (119) And the magicians were obliged to fall prostrate. (120) They said, “We have accepted faith in the Lord Of The Creation.” (121) the Sustainer of Moses and Aaron!" (122) But Pharaoh said: "You have come to accept belief in Him without my permission! This surely is a plot you have hatched to expel the people from the land. You will soon come to know. (123) I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides; then I will surely crucify you all." (124) They answered: "We have (in any case) to go back to our Lord. (125) “And what did you dislike in us, except that we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us? Our Lord! Pour (bestow abundantly) patience on us, and bestow us death as Muslims.” (126)
