Animals (Al-An 'aam)
165 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr) before The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Praise be to Allah, Who hath created the heavens and the earth, and hath appointed darkness and light. Yet those who disbelieve ascribe rivals unto their Lord. (1) It is He who created you of clay, then determined a term and a term is stated with Him; yet thereafter you doubt. (2) And He is Allah (to be worshipped Alone) in the heavens and on the earth, He knows what you conceal and what you reveal, and He knows what you earn (good or bad). (3) But never did a single one of the signs of their Lord reach them, but they turned away therefrom. (4) And now they reject the truth when it reaches them: but soon shall they learn the reality of what they used to mock at. (5) Have they not regarded how We destroyed before them many a generation We established in the earth, as We never established you, and how We loosed heaven upon them in torrents, and made the rivers to flow beneath them? Then We destroyed them because of their sins, and raised up after them another generation; (6) And had We sent down unto thee a Book written upon parchment so that they could have touched it with their hands, those who disbelieve would have said: this is naught but magic manifest. (7) 'Why has an angel not been sent down on him?' they say; yet had We sent down an angel, the matter would have been determined, and then no respite would be given them. (8) And had We made him an angel, We would still have made him a man, and We would have confounded for them that which they are confounding. (9) Other Messengers have been mocked before you. But those who scoffed at them were encompassed by that they had mocked' (10)
