Animals (Al-An 'aam)
165 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr) before The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Praise be Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, and made the darkness and the light. Yet those who reject Faith hold (others) as equal, with their Guardian-Lord. (1) It is He who has created you from clay to live for a life-time and the span of your life is only known to Him. You are still suspicious!. (2) And He is Allah in the heavens and on earth. He knoweth what ye hide, and what ye reveal, and He knoweth the (recompense) which ye earn (by your deeds). (3) Yet every time a sign of their Lord comes to them, they turn away from it, (4) They have rejected truth whenever it came to them, yet [more] news will reach them concerning what they have been making a mockery of. (5) Have they not seen how many generations We destroyed before them? We established them on the earth more firmly than you, and We sent the clouds over them, pouring down abundant rain; and made the rivers flow at their feet. Yet We destroyed them for their sins, and raised up other generations after them. (6) Had We sent down on thee a Book on parchment and so they touched it with their hands, yet the unbelievers would have said, 'This is naught but manifest sorcery.' (7) They say: "Why is not an angel sent down to him?" If we did send down an angel, the matter would be settled at once, and no respite would be granted them. (8) And if We had made him an angel, We would have made him [appear as] a man, and We would have covered them with that in which they cover themselves. (9) And assuredly mocked were the apostles before thee, wherefore that whereat they scoffed beset these who had been mocking. (10)
